QUESTION # 5
A person is walking with the speed of 1. 1/8 km per hour. How much time does he require to reach a goal at the distance of 5. 1/16 km ?
SOLUTION :
Speed of a person = 1. 1/8 km/hour
Total distance = 5. 1/16 km
To get the time required to reach a goal we divide he total distance to the speed of a person.
Time required to reach a goal = 5.1/16 ÷ 1. 1/8
= 81/16 ÷ 9/8
= 81/16 × 9/8
= 9/ 2
= 4.1/2 hour → is Answer.
Hence, 4.1/2 hour required to reach a goal.
QUESTION # 6
The rate of a piece of a gift paper is Rs 0.40 per paper. How many pieces of paper can we purchase for Rs. 78.40 ?
SOLUTION :
Rate of one piece of gift paper = 0.40
Total amount = 78.40 Rs
To find out the number of pieces of gift paper we divide the total purchase amount to the rate of one piece of gift paper.
Total pieces of gift paper = 78.40 ÷ 0.40
= 196 → is Answer.
Hence, we can purchase 196 pieces of gift paper.
